Dear Friends of Jabulani, Greetings from a hot, dry and drought ridden Zimbabwe, we pray you are well and enjoying our Lord Jesus Christ. We have had a good start to 2024 with everyone back at school and exams galore on the horizon. Grace is in her O level year and is exceptionally busy studying and doing extra lessons to help her get the required results to continue onward toward her goal of sitting A levels, please pray for her, she is struggling with Math and ICT and needs to really work hard for the required results. The 6 little girls are sitting ZimSec exams also and have something called CALA this year which is very time consuming, they leave for school at 6:20am and return at 4pm then after eating their food they are studying and have home work through to 7 o clock…it’s ridiculous and I can’t understand why much of it is necessary but it must be done! Please pray for Faith, Esther, Sarah, Ruth, Hannah and Abigail. Abigail was made a prefect and we are all so very proud of her, this was for academics, good behavior, participation in sports and clubs and generally for being a great girl, pray for Abi she is such a good girl.
Sports play a big part in the children’s lives, all 6 small girls swim in the school team, all of them except Faith run and high jump and long jump for the school, they are also in the cookery club…I’m exhausted running round picking up and dropping of but we are so happy they enjoy the sports.
Hope and Blessing also are very active in the High School sports being in the Netball team and running races. Joseph is a huge basketball fan and is training and playing now, the school are starting a team this year and Joe is very keen to be part of it. Here at Jabulani we have upgraded our solar as the cost of electricity has increased tenfold, we are now off grid and have all the power we need 24/7 praise God, what a blessing it is to be able to do all the washing and ironing, cooking etc for 17 people everyday, thank you to everyone who helped us you are a true blessing. We also had our third attempted break in by thieves and are grateful our security alarms were all working, we have now installed a razor wire fence on top of our boundary walls and this will help us all to stay safe while trusting our God to surround us with His love and peace.
On a more personal note Dorothy is preparing for her annual 56k ultra marathon run at Two Oceans Capetown next week and Alan had an operation for a torn miniscus before Christmas and is healing well and also had a head operation for a lipoma which needed to be excised…needless to say they found nothing inside my head! I thank God for successful surgeries and a feeling in great health praise the Lord.
Our Grandson Daniel has returned from South Africa and is now serving God with the youth at CFC Belfast, Noah is going to Queens University Belfast this year , Lois is sitting her A levels and Jonah his O levels…what a God we serve! Pray for them and their parents in these days, we miss them all so much. Kuda is now 16 years old now and is in great health, she is happy and content and brings is much joy, all the staff are well and there is a wonderful unity among us all for which we thank God! We want to thank all of you who pray and support us and for all the love toward us, we could not do this work without you, we praise God for friends like YOU!
