Dear Friends of Jabulani, Greetings from a winter Zimbabwe, it’s very cold at nights and warmish through the afternoon but we are all, wrapped up in layers of clothes and blankets at night! ( it’s actually very like an Irish Summer 😂😂🥶🥶 ).
We have continued with online teaching and Google classroom but it is no substitute for being in the classroom, our children have not really mastered this whole concept and are eagerly waiting on school opening again. There is no news on this happening anytime soon as Zimbabwe is still in lockdown with curfews from 6pm til 6am every day, Churches are still not meeting together and COVID still effecting many communities throughout the nation. Vaccination has really increased and we pray the numbers will decrease and lives saved by the Grace of God.
We celebrated Grace on her 13th birthday with a great party and beautiful cake, she is such a sweet young lady and a true blessing to everyone at Jabulani and beyond. We love her so much and she is really into clothes and style and has her own ideas about colours etc, Grace is very much enjoying her fashion and textile class in Maranatha High School and is always trying to create new clothes designs etc. Please pray for Grace that she will fulfil all the potential that is very evident in her life, she loves the Lord and is a keen Christian. Abigail also had a party on her 9th birthday, she is the baby of Jabulani but is growing tall and is very eloquent and loves to dance and sing. Abigail enjoys being with the big girls and fancies herself as one of them but the others help her to stay grounded! Please pray Abi will continue to work hard at school and stay focussed on improving her scores.
We arrived back in Zimbabwe after a horrendous 50 hour journey with cancelled flights, an overnight hotel stay, COVID tests in Ireland and then more tests in Germany and hold ups in 3 airports…it really was very frustrating but we thank God we got back into Zimbabwe and home to Jabulani without ALAN being arrested !
It has been a very sad time dealing with Joshua’s passing and ministering to our Jabulani staff and children but our God is very gracious and has brought us all hope that we will see him again. I asked the children how many spies went into the promised land and they answered 12 and then I asked how many wanted to go and live there and they said 2. I then asked what was the names of the 2 spies who wanted to live there and they said Joshua and Caleb and I told the kids that our Joshua and Caleb have entered the promised land of heaven and do not want it to return! Hallelujah! We have erected a tombstone at Joshua’s grave and had a memorial service for all our Jabulani family last Sunday, we praise God for His help and presence and peace! Please be assured of our prayers for all you friends, we thank God for you and appreciate your love, prayers and financial support, you are the blessing of God to us!
Our big girls are now learning how to wash and iron and also a little cooking and are all doing so well! Some friends have bought 1000 copies of Alan’s book “The Good News Man” and want to give these away to anyone who would like one or have a copy to bless someone with, please contact me if you are interested. May Gods blessings be all over your lives in the days ahead.
In Christ Alone, Alan and Dorothy
