Dear friends of JABULANI,
Greetings in Jesus Name, we pray you are well and COVID free and are enjoying Gods blessings in your life! What a world we are living in, all our lives have been turned upside down by this virus, plans that were made have all had to change, masks, lockdowns, quarantine, social distancing , sanitizer, are everyday words now...it’s unreal YET in the midst of it all we have seen our God do great and awesome things for us at JABULANI and praise Him for His great love and compassion toward us every day.
Zimbabwe has seen COVID cases come into the country through returning residents since May and now local breakouts are becoming more frequent, almost 200 people have died and over 6000 cases have been reported, we thank God all our children and staff are virus free and in good health.
Dorothy and I have been in Northern Ireland with our family having caught a repatriation flight at the end of April and we have had a safe and blessed time here with our children and grandchildren, we have been making up for the many years we have been separated and the Lord has really knit us all together in a most wonderful way, praise God!
Our JABULANI children are in great form, they were very fortunate to receive online lessons throughout the last term and have all done very well. Grace is doing extra lessons just now in preparation for her transfer test to High School in January, please pray for Grace as she sits the exams in September/October, she is a studious girl and very keen to do well. May God bless her and equip her as she sits the exams.
We have been able to resume our food supplies ordered online from South Africa so everyone is well fed and we lack nothing, the solar lights etc we fitted last year continues to be a tremendous blessing to the day-to-day running of JABULANI and everyone has come through the winter season in good health, praise God.
We had Grace (12) Daniel (11) and Abigails (8) birthdays in July and Joseph (11) in August, this is the first time Dorothy and I were not present for these birthdays but we are grateful to be able to speak and see the children every few days on social media and celebrate with them all.
Everyone is excited about our return in a few weeks, there will be many stories to hear for sure!
The quarantine has been lifted now in Zimbabwe and we have booked our flights and plan to leave on September 20th, we covet your prayers as we return to our mission field in the will of God. We are excited but also apprehensive, having lived in the land of plenty for almost 5 months we now go back to shortages and great need all around us. Please pray God will help us settle quickly at JABULANI and get involved in our children’s lives in every part in the days and months ahead and also in the ministry opportunities God opens up to us.
Dorothy hit 65 last week and ran 65km to celebrate! She is in wonderful health and we also praised God for 47 years of marriage together a few days later! What a God we have, He saves, He keeps and He blesses, where would we be without the Lord!
