Dear Friends of JABULANI,
Greetings from Harare, we trust you are experiencing Gods peace, joy and protection.
The world has turned upside down since our last update a few short weeks ago so we are sending you our love and a little update on our situation here in response to many requests.
First of all...we are all good and healthy and have everything we need right now Praise God! We have 1 case of coronavirus right now in Zimbabwe who has self isolated and on the way to recovery.
No other cases have been announced (that’s not to say there aren’t any out there) but at present there is no panic, praise God.
There is no panic buying in shops as people have no money, there are still fuel queues all over the country, there is no hoarding, again, people can’t afford it!
Hand sanitizer has got scarce in most shops and the price of what you can find has gone up 5000%, BUT we have enough for the staff who live outside the property and we have no worries about that.
We have 4 staff who live at their homes and have to travel by kombi (mini bus) each day -16 to a bus..no social distancing here, but again we trust God to keep them and us safe.
There has been no government direction on closing businesses or restaurants etc but the hotels and tourist industry are in trouble due to no visitors into the country at this time. The schools countrywide have closed down for the foreseeable future, our kids are home everyday except for Grace who will start extra lessons in a controlled environment in early April in anticipation of her Grade 7 exams, prior to High School next year God willing.
So thank you for your love, concern and prayers, we value each of you dear friends very much. Please continue to pray for Gods protection around us each day. The truth is our health system would not and could not cope if this virus hits Zimbabwe, our eyes are onto our God. Dorothy and I are due back in Ireland on 8 April but we don’t know what the situation will be then, we had preaching engagements every week and some travel planned but that’s all changed also.
Please pray God will give us His wisdom in every situation.
Please be assured of our continual prayers for everyone of you dear friends.
In Christ Alone,
Alan and Dorothy
