Greetings from Jabulani Zimbabwe!
It’s Autumn now and Winter is fast approaching with colder mornings and nights but still mid 70’sF during the daytime, we are in full swing in our mid-school term and it’s all systems go for our precious children.
Grace, Blessing, Hope and Joseph are fully involved at Maranatha HS, they are studying well and would love to get better results in their exams, please pray they will understand all they are taught and will be able to produce what is needed in the exams ahead. It has been a great few months with these older children, our greatest goal in bringing all our children into our lives was that they would put their faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ, so what a joy it was to baptism these 4 in April when our Grandson Daniel visited us from South Africa.
To hear their worship and testimony was a real blessing to us all and we pray they might know His leading and guidance in the years ahead as they follow the Master!
Hope and Blessing are playing for the school netball team and run in the athletics team also, they are very competitive while Grace is part of the school debate club and enjoys talking and discussing everything in her own eloquent way, she is sitting her O-Levels next year and is studying well.
Joseph is playing basketball and enjoys being with the lads at school as he is surrounded by all the girls at Jabulani!
The small girls… who are growing like weeds… are also very involved at school. Esther, Abigail and Ruth are on the school netball team. Faith, Hannah and Sarah are on the basketball team and they all hate to lose! Esther and Sarah are also involved with the Chinese club at school and can speak and sing in Mandarin.
Esther was chosen to sing at a Chinese festival and came 3rd and did very well. All of our children like to win and do things well so they throw themselves fully into every activity and are generally exhausted most evenings and ready for bed!
At Church, Joseph and Grace are involved with the sound and Hope on the video whilst Hannah and Sarah are part of the hosting team, Esther is a full-on part of the worship team and sings solos, her fave song is ‘the Goodness of God’. She can really belt it out! It’s great to see them enjoying Church and loving Jesus, all our little girls love the Lord and that gives us great hope and belief for their future lives Amen
We have had lots of birthdays. Hope and Blessing are now 14 years old, Esther, Ruth, Sarah and Hannah are 11 now and it just amazes us how quickly the years are flying by, truly our lives are only a vapour. We are trusting God for the days ahead that He will continue to be very real to our children and ourselves.
Kuda is doing well at home, she is still growing and is very content and happy, she is eating well also, please pray that she will not get sick through the winter months as she is susceptible to flu and coughs etc.
Zimbabwe has gone into hyperinflation again e.g. in April we could change US$1 for local currency $220 and today it is $4500.
Pray for us as we negotiate these difficult days in our country, we also have elections later this year, pray all goes safe and well, please. Our new car is going great and again we want to thank everyone who contributed so generously to that project. All the Jabulani staff send their greeting and appreciation for your prayers, they are a great blessing to us.
Dorothy and I are approaching our 50th wedding anniversary in August, the Lord has been very good to us! We are strong and healthy and He gives us the energy to keep up with our children! Dorothy ran the 56k two oceans race gain this year and did a fantastic time, she just keeps on running!
Our Grandson Daniel is staying in South Africa for another 6 months serving with George Academy while Lois is deputy Head girl at Carrickfergus Academy.
Noah is finishing his A levels and Jonah his 2nd year at High school. How we thank God for His grace and love to our family, what a Saviour and God we serve.
Thank you for all your love and prayers and support, we could not do this work without you, be assured of our prayers for YOU!
Much love, In Christ Alone, Alan and Dorothy
