Greetings from a cold and getting colder Zimbabwe! The winter has arrived early with cooler mornings and nights and with 12 hour power cuts every day it’s quite challenging to say the least!
Our children are doing very well at school this term, behavior is much better and while not all of the children are academically minded they have done quite well in tests but have room for improvement in some subjects especially Math and Shona language.
Please pray for them at school it is a long day for them as they catch the bus at 6.40am and don’t return til 5pm and then homework, food and bed! We know God has a plan for all our children and everyone at Jabulani is working hard to help them fulfil their potential.
Things are very tough here in Harare right now, along with the daily power cuts water is a big problem, inflation is running wild and the cost of foodstuffs has gone through the roof!
Fuel is over $5 a litre and people are desperate. There is a shortage of all the staple foods people use on a daily basis and the shelves are quite sparse in many shops. We continue to import most of our foodstuffs from South Africa and all our children are getting everything they need.
Thank you to everyone who supports us financially, your love and commitment to Jabulani is overwhelming and we are all very grateful. May God bless you in Jesus' Name.
We had a great sports day with Blessing and Hope winning races and everyone doing well and enjoying their first Maranatha PS Main event. Grace is the leading scorer for the school hockey team and Blessing is also playing for the year 5 team. Hope is on the school netball team and Joseph is a regular for the soccer side while Daniel is trying very hard to make the team.
The small girls are all very active and competitive and eager to be involved in everything that comes their way. Esther is talented and always wants to win!
Please pray against colds , flu and infection for Kuda and Joshua this winter, they really suffer because of their special needs in the cold weather. They have many layers of clothing, hats, scarves and gloves and blankets aplenty to keep them warm during this season, it’s difficult to see them under all the layers!
Thank you to those friends who have helped us purchase the special chairs for Kuda and Joshua, they are actually due to arrive with us in Harare next week before the end of June, Praise God! We are so grateful and thank God for the love and generosity in purchasing the chairs and having them shipped to us! God bless you friends!
Ruth is in good health, she has received her hearing aids and is enjoying the benefits and is gaining weight rapidly and doing well Praise God. She is taking meds every day and coping well and is catching up on her sisters in school having missed a few terms last year. Pray God will continue the good work he has begun in wee Ruth - she is much happier and laughing more these days, Praise the Lord.
Dorothy and I had a wonderful and rewarding trip to Ireland with wonderful times of ministry in Barcelona and France while meeting lots of our friends and family daily...it was a very tiring trip but God has been very gracious to us and we are grateful for a stress free and safe time back there. Our daughter Mandy and our grandchildren Daniel and Lois come and visit us for 4 weeks in July. Everyone is excited about their return, pray we will have a great time together.
Lots of Love
Alan and Dorothy
Philippians 4:6-7 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.'
